DTS Equips Believers with Biblical Truth

Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer founded what is now Dallas Theological Seminary more than 90 years ago as a way to bring biblical teaching to the forefront of a seminary education. He had the vision to establish a Seminary where all study would be centered on Scripture and the expository method—examining God’s Word verse by verse, chapter by chapter—would be emphasized. Thus, DTS was born, a seminary that to this day teaches every book of the Bible—all 66 books—to every student enrolled in a professional ministry degree program.

More than 16,000 men and women have studied at DTS. Graduates serve as pastors, teachers, missionaries, youth leaders, counselors, and in all other aspects of ministry. DTS alumni include David Jeremiah, Dennis Rainey, Howard Hendricks, Tony Evans, Jennie Allen, Priscilla Shirer, and Chuck Swindoll, who also serves as DTS Chancellor.

And the Seminary continues to grow, with more than 2,400 students enrolled. Students from more than 50 countries are enrolled at DTS, and we offer classes in English, Spanish, and Chinese. DTS is not affiliated with any one denomination; this year, we have the privilege of training students from more than 60 Bible-believing denominations.

In addition, DTS continues to offer new and exciting ways to reach people outside of our campus and equip them with biblical truth.
